STEAM Team Fun!

At LaunchED, we utilize a STEAM focus (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), to help our students engage in deeper learning. Whether they are practicing design thinking in our elementary grades, exploring electives like Design for a Better World and Computer Science, or collaborating in our after-school STEAM Team, our learners are constantly immersed in meaningful, hands-on innovation.

We are intentional about how this learning grows with our students to prepare them for the real world. In elementary school, we emphasize design thinking, a framework used by many industries to navigate complex problems. Our middle schoolers then take that foundation into the digital realm, building coding projects that transition from simple exercises to functional, real-world applications. By high school, the focus shifts to the high-level analytical skills required for advanced coursework at the district’s Innovation Center and Career Elevation Technology Center. This clear pathway ensures that every LaunchED student is building the critical, future-ready skills they need to lead—both in their current classes and future opportunities.

If you want to learn more about how your student can be involved in our after school STEAM teams, please contact Ms. Legrand at [email protected].

Student Art of the Week!

A vibrant abstract drawing with colorful swirls, shapes, and patterns, divided into sections with bold outlines.
“The Playful Monster Dimension”, Kaelyn G. 12th Grade

High School students in 2D Design had the option to use traditional materials or digital drawing apps to create an abstract work as one of their first projects. They needed to feature a combination of geometric and organic shapes, thick and thin lines, repeating shapes and patterns, and warm and cool colors. Kaelyn G. created this one, titled “The Playful Monster Dimension,” using paper and markers.
