It’s May!
As we approach the end of the semester, we are moving into our final events of the year—the cornerstone moments that anchor the LaunchED experience and give us a chance to pause and reflect. These year-end celebrations, including our Academic Awards Night, LaunchED Virtual Academy Class of 2026 Graduation, and our final STEAM Team events allow our community to come together to honor the perseverance, grit, and creativity our students have poured into their work over the last nine months.
Celebrating these milestones is an essential part of the learning journey; it helps our students recognize their own growth and the strength of the community they’ve built online. These events are the culmination of every late-night project, every office hour attended, and every moment of innovative learning by each of our students. You can see more information about these upcoming events below and we invite our community to be part of celebrating our students.
Let’s use these final weeks to cheer each other on and finish the year with the recognition and pride our learners truly deserve!
Important Dates & Upcoming Events:
May 6th: Late Start for Students/Professional Learning for LaunchED
May 12th: LaunchED Academic Awards (info coming soon!)
May 21st: Last Day of School!
May 21st: Class of 2026 LaunchED Virtual Academy Graduation
Student Art of the Week!

The high school 2D Design class has continued to explore the principles of design by creating art with a sense of movement. Many students, including Alyssa A. (9th grade), chose to feature koi fish in their designs. Koi fish can symbolize courage and perseverance. Alyssa’s drawing was done on her iPad using Procreate.
Thank you to Ms. Freeman for sharing this piece and to Alyssa for allowing us to celebrate your creativity and skill. Our LaunchED students are such talented creators and we are so grateful for our teachers who help make our students shine!

ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool

St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.
After spring break, parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.
Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.

April Focus: The Power of Taking Action
Habit # 4 The Power of Taking Action (Self-Advocacy)
In an online world, people can’t always see when you’re stuck or having a hard time. That’s why being able to “take action” is one of the important tools for digital learners. Whether it’s a tech glitch, a confusing assignment, or just needing an extra day, speaking up for yourself is how you take the lead in your own education.
Don’t Sit in Silence: If you’ve been staring at a screen for 10 minutes and haven’t moved forward, that’s your cue to reach out. Sending a quick message or asking a question isn’t “bothering” anyone—it’s the way that you receive support and move forward as a learner!
The Solution Mindset: In any future job, the most successful people aren’t the ones who know everything; it’s the ones who know how to find the answer. When you ask for help, you aren’t failing—you’re being a problem-solver who refuses to let a roadblock stop them
