Connecting In-Person and Online
This week, we want to celebrate our amazing 5th-grade students for their recent science experience! They brought our innovative learning model to life by gathering at the LaunchED campus for a deep dive into their science curriculum. This unique session used our classroom technology, allowing students who attended in person to connect and collaborate seamlessly with their classmates who joined virtually. Mr. Reid did a wonderful job of using this time to build community while helping students dig deeper into complex science concepts. Watching our students excitedly show what they learned and work together, regardless of location, was a perfect example of what makes LaunchED so special.
We are incredibly grateful that LaunchED has a physical campus. While our core learning happens online, this space offers students wonderful opportunities to come together sometimes for classes, and, as the 5th grade proved this week, for unique experiences where they can apply and proudly showcase their learning in person. This blend of virtual flexibility and in-person connection truly enriches the LaunchED experience for everyone.

Important Dates & Upcoming Events:
October 8th: In-person NMSQT for 11th Grade, online PSAT for 9-10 (more info below)
October 10 & 13th: No school for students
Nov 5th: Late start for students
Weekly Student Art Featured

This week we are featuring our High School Photography class!
HS Photography students have been exploring creative self portraits, experimenting with props to enhance their portrait, as well as lighting and unique points of view. Our students use their iPads as well as art apps available through the district to help take and edit these photos (these students used both Snapseed and Procreate). Its incredible how our students demonstrate time and again their creativity and innovation in the work that they do!

Coat Drive: District Student Leadership Team Project!
The Longmont Rotary Winter Warmth Coat Drive runs from September 21 to October 30. Collection barrels are located throughout Longmont for gently used or new coats, blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens (note: no winter boots this year).
We’re grateful to partner once again with the OUR Center, which provides a managed path of distribution, ensuring items reach those most in need. New this year, Student Advisory Councils from St. Vrain Valley School District high schools will lead collection campaigns in their schools—engaging youth directly in this community tradition.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to our local businesses and organizations for supporting this effort. Together, the Winter Warmth Coat Drive helps keep our neighbors warm while inspiring the next generation of service.
Drop Off Locations:
LaunchED Campus 619 Bowen Street in Longmont (other locations–see this flyer with more information!)
Thank you to our Superintendent Advisory Council members for helping to lead this project along with students from around our district: Destiny (11th), Annie (12th) & Emily (12th)

Office Hours Reminders!
Does your student need some additional support or help in a class? Please encourage them to attend office hours with their teachers! Office Hours is a time for students to meet 1:1 or in small groups and receive instructional support, re-teaching, coaching, feedback, and more on their classwork. This pivotal time is one of the magic ingredients that makes LaunchED a powerful place to learn–please encourage your students to attend! Our secondary teachers hold office hours between classes and during the 11:00-12:00pm block every day. Elementary teachers hold this time at the end of the day, often between 2:00-3:00pm.
Your encouragement to attend will make all the difference as students engage in these structures to receive that extra support!
