LaunchED Photo of the Week

We are thankful for hybrid learning opportunities for our students! Today we had students at our LaunchED campus AND students at home, working and learning together on a challenge. Our students are experts at making sure they feel connected to each other whether in person or online–and that is power they can use in the future, too!

Nominate an Educator for Teacher of the Year!
We have an incredible team of teachers in our school (including our interventionist and counselor!). Our teachers embrace innovation and compassion in equal measure–and they understand how to honor where a student is as a learner and help them see what they can be as they grow. And to teach online is truly magical, to build relationships through a screen that feel even more authentic and connected is a super power all of our teachers possess.
Please help recognize a teacher in LaunchED Virtual Academy by nominating a teacher who you believe exemplifies excellence for a Teacher of the Year Award. Visit St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation’s website at https://stvrainfoundation.org/programs/tribute-to-teachers/ for the nomination form. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:45 pm.
Our admin team, Julie Read and Nannette McMurtry, can help you gather any information you need to fill out this nomination form–you can reach them via email or call the office. Thank you for all the ways you honor our teachers in LaunchED!

LaunchED In the News!
Our district communications team wrote an amazing article about the ways students feel connected to their teachers and each other in LaunchED–being an online learner means community, connection, and so much more!

Nomination Round for our 2nd Annual Battle of the Books!
Students–this is your chance to vote for your favorite books that you read this year for our nomination round for battle of the books. Parents, you might have to help your younger students fill out this form. Graphic novels, picture book, novels, etc–all are welcome as part of this nomination process.
Student Art Showcase: Each week we will feature art and products created by our students in LaunchED in their art classes (including photography, animation creation, video production, computer graphics, etc.)
The two images below are part of the “design your own emoji” assignment in our graphics class! Below these two images are two designs for the “Google Doodle” challenge.

Please make sure that your iPad is updated to the latest iOS. We recommend checking weekly to see if there is a new update for your iPad’s operating system. So many apps and websites for LaunchED rely on these updates.
