Principal’s Update & Important Dates

The spring semester is hopping along and we are are excited about the many opportunities that exist for our students to extend their learning within and beyond LaunchED.

Students– now is the time to really take advantage of the many ways to connect with your teachers to support your learning. Our hope as students approach mid-semester is that they are engaging in the 1:1 office hours and academic support time when they need it and feeling confident about their attendance and the work they are completing in class. It is hard to imagine that there are only a few months left in this school year–so students and families, reach out to your teachers, counselors, or administrators, if you need support for finishing the year strong in LaunchED!

LaunchED Presentation to the SVVSD School Board

We had the opportunity to present to the SVVSD School Board on Wednesday, February 28th at the regular board meeting. Our K-12 students shared their experiences with LaunchED, and our principal, Julie Read, discussed the growth of LaunchED and our future plans for online schooling in the district. It was an informative and engaging session that highlighted the progress and vision of our online school and our continued impact on our district and beyond! Thank you to Lucas, Ace, and Anna, for sharing your LaunchED stories! Pictured above is our students Anna & Ace, and the staff that was able to attend the meeting.

From our SVVSD Innovation Center: STEM Night and Student Design Guild

Student Design Guild: The Student Design Guild seeks to create experiential learning opportunities that transcend the traditional classroom and engage the entire community in STEM and design work.  In this Student Design Guild, teachers can support their students on a design journey, either in the classroom, or by providing information to parents for students to work independently at home. See the attached flier for details. Teachers can have their entire class participate, or even just a small group. Students can participate independently at home, or invite a friend to work on your project with you!  Please contact Kristen Brohm, Director of STEM Education at the Innovation Center,  for more information.  Anyone can enter!
