Weekly Student Art Featured

Miah K., 7th Grade

This week we are featuring our Middle School Art Class

Students in MS Art began a unit on color theory by creating color wheels in the shape of spider webs. Some, like Miah, decided to add a spider as well. Students had the option to draw on paper or an iPad app such as Procreate or Sketchbook.
Art is such an important elective in middle school as it helps our students continue to grow their creativity, innovation, and critical thinking skills!

Spirit Week @ LaunchED

We are getting ready for Spirit Week in LaunchED–see the schedule below! This is a great time for our students to connect and celebrate LaunchED!

Coat Drive: District Student Leadership Team Project!

The Longmont Rotary Winter Warmth Coat Drive runs from September 21 to October 30. Collection barrels are located throughout Longmont for gently used or new coats, blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens (note: no winter boots this year).

We’re grateful to partner once again with the OUR Center, which provides a managed path of distribution, ensuring items reach those most in need. New this year, Student Advisory Councils from St. Vrain Valley School District high schools will lead collection campaigns in their schools—engaging youth directly in this community tradition.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to our local businesses and organizations for supporting this effort. Together, the Winter Warmth Coat Drive helps keep our neighbors warm while inspiring the next generation of service.

Drop Off Locations:

LaunchED Campus 619 Bowen Street in Longmont (other locations–see this flyer with more information!)

Thank you to our Superintendent Advisory Council members for helping to lead this project along with students from around our district: Destiny (11th), Annie (12th) & Emily (12th)
